2007 Results
The CFCC season 2007 drew to a close on the 26th of August with the traditional showdown between the Spitfires and Dynamos in the Fudge Cup. It was a cracking season, our biggest to date and it provided its fair share of quality cricket and farcical moments.
The ECB will be interested to know about CFCC's new tactic this year of getting run outs invented by Nick Wakewam and Chris James. Drop a howler of a catch (on purpose), lull the batsman into an easy run and then rifle in an incredible throw to run him out.
Groundbreaking stuff!
Anyway, below is brief game by game summary... |

- Isle of Man tour – great effort by all both on and off the field! Mini report: won 1, lost 1, 3 nights of great lash! TOUR AWARDS: Matt Correal – best batsman, Paul Barrow – best bowler, Jimmy Fargher – clubman, Julia Gibbs – Clubgirl, Nick Wakeham – TFC for catching Smally when fielding for the opposition and of course Daf Howells with the tour moment – his ‘having a fit’ dance!
- The President’s match on Clapham Common – giant leap towards London developments and well discovered venue.
- White washing ISIS 4 – 0 (to level overall scores) and arch rivals Holton 2 – 0 (+ great fight back in game 2!) – can’t remember the last time Holton beat us!
- Meeting new teams + new contacts (most notably United Ox Hospitals)
